This place is a model of how campgrounds should operate. Very well kept, and I mean very nice. Lots of work go into upkeep and maintaining the grounds. The pool is clean, mini golf looked great. Kids play equipment was all in great shape. The roads and signage made for ease of getting around. Wifi was the best you will get as there were transmitters all over the place. Clean bathrooms and showers. The staff was great and owners are usually on site and working hard. We will return.
Southwoods has some of the friendliest staff I’ve ever met (and I used to be related to the staff of an RV park). The sites are large and well maintained. The laundry facilities are clean and I’ve not seen a machine out of service yet (been here four weeks so far). Children are an accepted part of the population and my 5 year old has become so popular with the full time residents that I think they may elect him mayor. With the reasonable rates, this may be one of your best RV bets in this part of the state.
Absolutely a great place for families and just couples looking to get away. We chose to rent a camper. Had every single amenity that we could need. Was VERY spacious and VERY clean. I think the outside could use a good power wash but who cares about that really. We had such a great family weekend. Hayrides, crafts for kids, cider and doughnuts…. people are SO nice. The front desk people were AMAZING AND SO NICE. The owner stopped by to check to see how our stay was going. So sweet of him. Thank you for a wonderful family camping weekend!!
I enjoy camping here very much. They have many different sites you can choose from, if you prefer to be in the wide open area they have the hill, there are very wooded sites and semi wooded. Prices arr reasonable for what you are getting. They offer many activities and have 2 pools. The office people are extremely nice and helpful. Would recommend.
Southwoods campground owners and staff were fantastic! They were very warm and friendly. The “seasonals” were also friendly. The grounds are huge and beautiful to walk. The bad: laundry facilities need updating and the train traffic noise is non stop all hours of the day and night, which is the only reason that we will not camp there again. I know they can not control that , thus, still the 4 star rating. If you do not mind train noise, such as the horn blowing, then this is a fantastic RV resort for you, but a deal breaker for me.
What a wonderful campsite. The sites are very level with grass. There are plenty of activities for both adults and children. The campsite is gated which provides extra reassurance that nobody who is unauthorized can gain access to the site. They have two playgrounds and two pools. We had a wonderful time here on Labor Day weekend. We already booked our trip for next year on Labor Day weekend and lucky us, they had one site left that had full hook ups. So, if you want to get in to this great campsite, I recommend you book early and often.
